Three Day Culinary Weekend Escape

This three day (two night) escape is the food lover’s perfect short escape with a Monday or Thursday start, wrapping up on Wednesday or Saturday. Arrive after midday on your first day. We’ll introduce you to Misse and the kitchen and give you time to get settled in after your journey. Then join Chef Aaron in the kitchen for a hands-on demonstration around the preparation of dessert along with a tasting of local wines. We’ll then gather for dinner, a delightful three-course meal. After dinner you can relax with a glass in the lounge or library, then off for a pleasant night’s rest in your charming and cozy ensuite room.

After a farmhouse breakfast of local breads, pastries, yogurts, cereals and other delights the next morning, we’ll head off for a tour of the farmer’s market in Thouars. All these markets are in beautiful culturally significant settings with lots of things to see and treats to sample. We’ll also give you time to wander around, have a coffee and daydream. We’ll return to Misse and lunch on the treats we picked up at the market. Afterwards, we’ll gather to menu plan for dinner followed  by a series of cookery sessions where we’ll learn techniques, recipes and work hands-on to prepare our evening meal. We’ll have an early evening break to freshen up and catch our breathes before sitting down together to enjoy the fruits of our labour.

The last morning after breakfast (optional), you’ll have your final cooking session focusing on pastry or another specific aspect of French cookery. We will enjoy brunch together. All good things must come to an end, so after brunch, you’ll pack up we’ll say our goodbyes as the short break comes to an end.

Cost

795€ per person – based on 2 participants sharing double/twin room with private bathroom.
500€ for a non-participating partner sharing double/twin room with private bathroom.
795€ per person – solo traveller. We can only accommodate solo travellers: In groups (of two or more) or during weeks that already have bookings.

Price includes EVERYTHING except travel to France and transport to Circle of Misse (we can arrange airport train transfers for a fee, please see our getting here page) and discretionary purchases at markets and other attractions. Deposit of €159 per cooking course participant is due at the time of booking. The balance becomes due 30 days before the start date.

Please note: The holiday schedule described above serves as a guide. We may occasionally need to change the order or location of certain events due to the season, weather or other logistical practicalities. If so, we’ll always aim to deliver the same experience and similar atmosphere.
