Holidaying in the Loire and want a ‘taste’ of the region?

Our one day course is the perfect way to spend several fun-filled hours unlocking the hidden delights of the region, while including a culinary experience in your existing holiday. It also ends with an extraordinary three course meal. So that’s lunch sorted. On certain days, you can also choose to add a market tour before the course, so you can learn even more about the food and culture of our region.

The Details

  • Join us in our kitchen starting at 10 a.m., we’ll cook together until about 13:00 then savour our creations during a three-course lunch, sending you on your way with a folder containing all the recipes and a few other treats at around 15:00
  • We will focus on local seasonal produce and other ingredients to prepare a starter, main and dessert. We’ll ask about your tastes, preferences and interests when you book, then build the menu around those.
  • On Tuesdays and Fridays, we can organise a farmer’s market tour before the cookery course. We meet you at Thouars market at 9 a.m., sample the sights, sounds and tastes of the market which teams with fresh vegetables, cheese, sweets, meats and seafood. We’ll taste some local specialties  and then you can follow us back to our kitchen, where we’ll get to started on lunch, learning some new skills and recipes. We’ll end the day around 16:00. Please let us know at the time of your booking if you’d like this option. Additional fees applies.
  • This course does not include accommodation so you can easily fit it into your existing plans, but if you want to spend a night or two or more with us, let us know and we’ll check availability and quote you a rate.  Cookery one-day course participants receive a 10% accommodation discount and are not subject to the minimum stay requirement.

Cost: €275 per person. On Tuesdays and Friday you can add an optional Thouars farmer’s market visit. Non-cooking participants can join us at lunch for a fee of €55.
A deposit of €75 per cooking course participant is due at the time of booking. The balance, including non-participant lunch if applicable, is due 7 days before the course start date.
